i moved on sat...fell & fractured my wrist..... it is in a caste,thank god it is the ,left one.... i am all settles in with the help of my daughter ,sonin law,grandkids.. i was at the hospital for hours....was able to talk to doc,nurse,why.
they must not shut the door on the jw's as they have been doing.. they were very interesting took my card to give the ones they have.
been listening to.....so i feel good came out of bad....

On a different note: I am currently listening to the audio version of Nietzsche's Beyond Good and Evil. I don't know if it was the time period, the translation, or my background, but about half of it goes right past me on the first listen.

my earliest memories of the religion begin somewhere around the age of 4. i was at least three, because i recall leading the pack around the yard on an explore of some sort.
it was a hot summer day.
our small town was always quiet, and we saw few visitors at our home, for that matter even on our block, when i happened upon a large black four door sedan parked in the edge of our lawn as the streets in our town had no curbs and were narrow.

i have read of so many donations, people opening their homes, offering to rent out vacant, furnished apartments.
opening their homes to total strangers that need shelter.
Peace to all those affected there. Glad to see such humanitarian efforts to aid others going on.
Such really does dispel the WT notion of worldly people and their greedy motivations doesn't it?

Do you really beleive that ALL the universe is/has to offer is Pain, chaos and terror?
I never said that, did I? I was summarizing my opinions about what Dawkins meant in one of his quotations. I happen to agree with him, but not with your assessment that I view the universe ONLY as offering pain, chaos, and terror.
As Cofty so well stated above, the universe is beautiful on some/many levels. But creationists miss the point that at some very basic levels it is ugly. And if we suppose that by examining the bones of any house we can find much about the attitudes/character/wisdom of the builder, then it would follow that God is not as presented by creationists. He is not LOVE. He could not be, if he is the author of the chaos and pain we see at the foundations of our world and universe. I present that pure evolution better explains such foundation than does creation.
Personally, I think that God was created to cover our fears. We do not wish to believe that survival is the key element of life - we prefer to believe that underlying all this must be LOVE. Yet the evidence does not support such conjecture. God was created to foward such opinion among the superstitious ancients who could not explain it otherwise. Just my opinion.
I love life. I simply see no evidence to support that it was created by any super-sky-daddy of love. I further present that if it were, it would be evident as we inspected it deeply on all levels. What we find is not compatible with such thinking however. We find genes with survival mode tactics at all levels of life - not genes with love tactics.

Of course Dawkins point is that there is tremendous horror going on, all the time, within so called 'creation'. And how would a 'loving' creator do that? Or substance thereof.
Evolution is ugly. But at least those who espouse the scientific evidence for it, realize the reasons for the ugliness. Man continues, even at the higher end of the chain to do very ugly things to both the balance of 'creation' and to his fellow man. In so doing, why don't the theists admit at least that cruelty, hate, ugliness is far closer to the picture God paints for us to follow, than peace, love, justice.
In what we can see/touch/feel/experience, if it is from God, does not paint a picture anything like that creationist-theist would have us accept about God's personality. If there is a God - his personality is painted all over the planet, indeed the universe, from the micro to the macro, and it is chaos, pain, terror - not love.
